Chris Stromsoe is a seasoned technology leader with over 30 years of experience at UCLA, where he has held key roles across infrastructure and cybersecurity.

He currently serves as the Principal Information Security Architect in the Information Security Office. In this role, Chris is a member of the Chief Information Security Officer’s direct leadership team and part of the CIO’s extended leadership team. He leads UCLA’s security architecture practice, guiding strategic IT security initiatives and developing technical blueprints and configuration standards. His portfolio includes advancing endpoint and mobile device management practices, defining UCLA’s zero-trust networking strategy, and shaping both cloud and campus-based network security architectures.

Previously, Chris served as Principal Systems Engineer in the Office of the Chief Technology Officer, where he was responsible for designing and delivering many of UCLA’s core IT infrastructure services. His work spanned mission-critical platforms including the university’s DNS and time synchronization systems, backbone network security infrastructure, cloud environments in AWS and Google Cloud, and centralized email services supporting over 300,000 mailboxes.

Chris’s leadership reflects a deep commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and aligning technology with institutional goals. He brings a systems-level perspective, honed through decades of cross-functional collaboration, to building secure, resilient, and forward-looking IT environments.
