Geffen Academy at UCLA
Nancy is the Chief Administrative Officer at Geffen Academy at UCLA. In this role she has worked hand in hand with the Head of School to launch the first independent secondary school in the UC system; creating new policies, procedures, processes, handbooks, negotiating the founding MOU with its Geffen Educators, running the student health program, business office, human resources team, IT/Ed Tech, finance, facilities and other programs and systems. The school has been wonderfully successful and has recently graduated its third senior class – achieving a 100% college acceptance rate.
Prior to returning to UCLA, Nancy was the Regional Director of Business Operations at the American Red Cross, focusing on Finance, HR, Risk Management, Training and Professional Development for the Los Angeles, Inyo and Mono counties. There she supported the merger of several chapter offices and their business operations, ensuring change management efficiencies and focusing on employee engagement and developing a consistent organizational culture. In addition, she helped pioneer the org’s government grant program – which went on to became the largest and most successful in the nation. Previously, she held administrative/operational positions at Pulte Corp, Sidley Austin, UCLA and Galpin Motors. Nancy is a UCLA alumnus and Bruin at heart, and she also holds an MSPA degree from Cal State Los Angeles.
