Workplace English 2026 Schedule

After completing the Participant Application, your supervisor will be sent the Supervisor Recommendation Form. Please speak with your supervisor if you have an interest in applying.

Who Should Apply?

Do you speak some English and want to improve your conversation skills with your supervisors and team members?

Can you commit to the 18-week program and attend the scheduled class meetings?

This class is open to staff from Facilities Management, Housing and Hospitality, and Transportation.

Selection for class participation includes: 

  • The participant is in good standing within the organization.
  • The participant has consistent attendance and has not had any performance or attendance issues in the past 6-months.
  • The participant received a satisfactory or above rating in the most recent performance evaluation period.

Participate in this 18-week class and improve your language skills. 

What Will You Learn? 

  • English words and sentences commonly used in the workplace.
  • Cultural context to speak with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Reading and writing information for your job.

Class Details

  • The scheduled 18-weeks are divided into two quarters with a short break in between.
  • Class meets two times per week for 60 minutes.
  • Participants will have 15 minutes to travel to and from class location.
  • Participant must make every effort to attend class and will be permitted two absences per quarter.

Class Schedule and Location

We have two class offerings open to all team members. Please confirm that your work schedule is during the scheduled class times. Participants in this program are expected to remain on paid work status while attending classes.

  • Morning class — Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., located at the DeNeve Private Dining Room.
  • Evening class — Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., located at the Facilities Management 2nd Floor Conference Room.

Selection Process 

  • Enrollment will be limited to 20 team members for the morning and evening classes.
  • Classes will be filled with team members from Facilities Management, Housing and Hospitality, and Transportation regardless of class location.
